We often dream of what we’d do with that big lottery win, a new house, new furniture, but what do you do with your old life? Well, EuroMillions winner Beverley Doran has come up with the perfect answer by hosting a big giveaway and giving it all away before she upgrades to her mansion life!
The mum of four has struggled for a while, a single mum on a council estate, but all that changed a couple of weeks ago when she won £14,500,000 on the EuroMillions Lottery. Now she has cancelled her benefits payments and is moving into a new home and upgrading everything she owns.
As an act of kindness, Doran has opened the door on her council property inviting her neighbours to take what they want, passing on her good fortune in some small way. The gesture turned into quite an event as the Sun newspaper photographed the whole street out in force removing furniture from the house.
Now off benefits, Doran from Shipley, West Yorkshire will start her new life as a lottery winner and with four children to support she should find plenty to spend the cash on.
The lucky winner discovered she had won the jackpot while lying on bed the morning after the draw. After logging on to the National Lottery site, she could see that she had won a prize but couldn’t see what it was. She said she could hardly believe it when she realised she was the single jackpot winner. Neighbours have gone on to say no one kinder could have won the prize, and the actions of opening her home to her neighbours certainly seems to support that.
