It was a big Tuesday EuroMillions draw this week as a triple rollover pushed the jackpot to almost £40,000,000, but it will roll no more as two lucky players matched all the winning numbers! It’s a bumper prize and what’s more, one half of it is coming to the UK as one British player is one of the lucky ticket holders!
The two winning tickets were sold in the UK and Belgium, and it’s the first time this year a British player has won the jackpot, in what will hopefully be the first win of many in the area. Just four jackpot winners have been found so far in 2017 but we’re still only midway through February so there’s plenty of time for some big winners yet.
The Tuesday jackpot had been rolling since 3rd February and rolled three consecutive times before this win, pushing the top prize up to almost £40,000,000. Even split two ways this is a notable prize and we’re sure the winners will agree!
Britain has a fair bit of EuroMillions luck compared to other nations, collecting 17.3% of overall jackpot wins. This win takes the UK’s total tally up to 64 jackpot winners, just in front of Portugal with 62. However, the luckiest EuroMillions nation is still France, collecting 23.1% of all wins with 83 overall winners, beating Spain who count 81 winners in total.
The next EuroMillions draw takes place on Friday evening and the jackpot for that draw will be reset to around £14,000,000, or €17,000,000 outside the UK.
