The EuroMillions jackpot has seen a month of rollovers, the last jackpot winner back on 21st February. By Tuesday night that top prize had rolled to a massive €80,000,000, but will roll no more as one player matches all the winning numbers, scooping the entire prize!
We don’t have much news about the winner yet but we do know some things. We know that a single ticket has matched the numbers, but we don’t yet know if that player is part of a syndicate. We also don’t have the identity of the winner, but we know the winning ticket was sold in Portugal.
This jackpot winner walks away with a staggering €80,571,199, the second largest win of the year so far. The win comes second to a jackpot won on 24th January when one Irish player collected €88,587,275!
It’s the first EuroMillions jackpot win of 2017 for Portugal, who have over the years seen their fair share of luck. Portugal is the fourth luckiest EuroMillions country with 63 winners in the history of the draw, taking over 17% of the jackpot wins. This compares to 65 jackpot winners in the UK, 82 in Spain, and 84 in France, the luckiest of all the EuroMillions countries.
